Picking up some things I've had forever in better (and more legitimate) bitrates. These are two of the best bands to have graced the scene. True all-timers.
In line with the DUPLEX COATED OBSTRUCTION 10’’, Denovali Records and HEAVEN IN HER ARMS are releasing another new record together – a split with the french post hardcore heroes AUSSITÔT MORT. Since Heaven in Her Arms and Aussitot Môrt have been close friends for years and have shared several tours in Europe and Japan, this split was definitely overdue. 2 brand new songs from Aussitot Môrt – one epic piano based intro and a rather metal-oriented new track from Heaven In Her Arms.
I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again. jornfin
a perfect showcase for extreme technical mastery, but unlike almost every other band at this level, the complexity and skill is not the point at all, everything is so focused on expression, emotion, energy... Converge is untouchable Giles
An earthy yet somewhat chilly record about life, death, and reconnection, the latest from LOMA experiments with a turn towards the gloomy. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 16, 2024
I worked my way backwards to this. And what you get is the expected proto-genre shifting behemoth that we get later one. But this isn't simply archival material of historical interest. A track like Easy remains among the band's best work, even as they have branched out from there. Luke
